General Outlook: Heus wolves seem to be the direct opposite of the Sasriels. Their goal is to cause as much friction as they can among the other packs, or with the Sasriels (who are their worst enemies). They are a brutal class of wolf and are built so.
Commonly, they are of average height of a typical gray wolf, but their forms are stocky and solid, obviously built with muscle. Because of their heavy forms, their weight is their greatest weapon when fighting. Their awesome strength is something sort of a legend among other wolves, so Herculean like in nature. They tend not to have to much of a pelt in all reality, and much of their hide is skin, save for a line of thick, tuft fur that runs from the back of their heads, down their back and into a fully furred tail. What fur that does cover them is usually very coarse and thin, not giving them much help in the winter months which is why they aren't seen much during the winter. Their pelt/skin colors range from darker shades of red to black, probably because of how much time they spend out of the sun and within the trees and underground. Eye colors range from brown to black mostly, though hazel and green can also be seen from time to time. They also have ravenous diets and will usually eat whatever they can find whenever they can find it.
There are some other common physical features among these wolves as well, the most prominent being their large claws and brutal fangs. Their claws are usually very sharp, like their fangs. Their top, front fangs, however, grow to be so large that full grown adults have to get used to having them curve out of their mouth and curve against their bottom jaw. Because of this, Heus wolves will often spend their free time gnawing on bones, rocks, or anything hard in order to keep their fangs from growing out of ridicules and deadly proportions.
They are not usually very accepting of others outside of their species, but are known to allow others join their pack, especially hybrids that have Sasriel blood and the wings to prove it. Heus's are known to be very persuasive creatures, using whatever they can to convince another of a certain belief, often tearing strong packs apart. They are more intelligent than they appear and are usually avoided on sight. Very rarely do they try to make themselves part of packs outside of their own species (See Blood Fang pack info) and will generally only join a pack with other Heus's or stay loners. The Heus also realize what an enemy they have in the Sasriels, and as a result, both species have to come to respect each other as bloody, merciless, well-trained fighters. Despite their distaste for each other, it isn't to often you see the two fighting.
Longevity: Heuss generally live anywhere from 9 to 15 years old.
Pack Life: Heus's, despite their physical and personal appearances, have a very strong connection with each other. Their packs range from 5 to 12 wolves on average. Like any wolf pack, they are strong and bonded as family; caring for pups, hunting together, mourning one of their own when they are killed. However, they often show affection or love by a good, friendly spar . . .
Like in normal wolf packs, it is generally only the Alpha's that have pups, unless permission is given elsewhere. Heus females usually have 2 - 4 pups in a litter and the pups are usually large at birth. The whole pack takes the pups under their wings, training them, raising them to be as strong and malicious as the rest of the pack. It is usually a "tough love" process, especially for parents, where the pups learn how to be independent early on in life.
Hunting is usually done with two or three wolves, beings that a single Heus wolf can take down large prey by themselves. But the more food that can be given to a pack, the more healthy and strong the pack is.
A Note On Hybrids: Heus hybrids generally don't fare well at the beginning and most pups will usually die within the first few weeks. But those that do survive end up having gawky, noticeable features that mark their half blood. Some say that they are "out of proportion" as they sometimes inherit the powerful leg muscles, while the rest of the body is more limber or less muscled. Some, however, turn out looking perfectly normal but lack fur and thus will sometimes perish in the frigid winter months if they do not stay with the Heus.
